Massive Recall Issued for Over 5 Million Above-Ground Pools After Multiple Drowning Fatalities
More than 5.2 million above-ground swimming pools sold in the U.S. and Canada by Bestway, Intex Recreation, and Polygroup are being recalled due to a significant drowning hazard. Nine child deaths have been reported, primarily due to a design flaw where compression straps allowed young children unsupervised access to the water. Consumers are advised to obtain a free repair kit or drain the pools.
